Took this on a weekend hike with my 9-pound terrier mix, and the padded shoulder straps made carrying her for three miles feel way easier than I expected. The zippered front pocket held her leash and a water bottle without bulging, and she seemed perfectly content peeking out the whole time.
Our 6-pound chihuahua rides right on my chest and barely stirs for the whole hike, even over rough trails. The bite-sized design fits her perfectly while leaving my hands free for my trekking poles. Only wish the padding was a touch thicker for longer days, but it's honestly the most comfortable car
The zipper pulls are smooth even when I'm carrying it one-handed, which is huge since my other hand is always holding the leash. Took a bit to get the chest strap adjusted right for my frame, but once I did, the weight distribution felt solid for a full afternoon out.
